In Your New Hometown, Education Isn't Just Elementary

At South Riding, we take your child's education seriously. Only the most qualified, committed and inspiring teachers are selected. Hands-on, project-based programs encourage independent thinking and creativity in kids. And so far, it seems to be working: after our first elementary school was open for only a year, our students passed with over 90% in the State of Virginia Standards for Learning (SOL) standings. Not only did we fulfill our accreditation requirement, it was an incredible achievement on the part of our kids!

South Riding's children can attend Little River Elementary school or Hutchison Farm Elementary school for students in grades K-5 and Mercer Middle School for students in grades 6-8. The new Freedom High School, grades 9-12, in South Riding welcomed its first students for the 2005-2006 school year. In just a few short years, South Riding will have a complete school system, right in the neighborhood, to meet the needs of kids of all ages.
